Home Affordable Program

I am pleased to announce  that Reliant Mortgage will be taking part in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac's Making Homes Affordable and Modification programs. The programs  will begin on April 1st; they are designed to help people refinance their homes even if they have lost equity through the downturn in Real Estate values over the last few years. In brief, the program in works as follows. If your home has a mortgage that is currently owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac:

  1. If you put down 20% when you purchased the home, you can refinance without mortgage insurance.
  2. If you have lost so much equity in your home that you have little or no equity, FNNH will allow you to refinance despite their previous guidelines.

There will be rate adjustments for these loans, but at least you will be able to refinance and receive some payment relief because current interest are near the lows experienced in 2002 - 2003.

Down below you will find links to PDF files directly from FNNH that will explain the programs in detail.
